1975 Ford F-150 – Zehr Insurance Brokers Ltd.

Owned by Ronald Zinger – ON

Some vehicles become part of the family, and that’s certainly the case with Ronald Zinger’s 1975 Ford F-150. Purchased brand new in August 1974 from Parkway Ford in Waterloo, this truck was built to Ron’s exact specifications. Now, 50 years later, it’s still with him—outlasting his first wife, as he likes to joke.

Originally a daily driver until 1995, this F-150 was used for everything from snowmobiling trips to everyday hauls before undergoing a full restoration in 2004. Dressed in black-on-black and powered by a 302 V8 engine with a 3-speed manual transmission, it’s a rare survivor with unique factory options, including:

  • Dual fuel tanks
  • A factory-ordered tool storage box, usually found only on Camper Specials
  • Five cab lights
  • Heavy-duty suspension
  • Stainless steel West Coast mirrors
  • AM/FM radio, amp and oil gauge, and tinted glass

With 55,000 miles on the odometer (yes it’s turned over a couple of times), this truck has seen a lifetime of adventures. It’s also earned its place in the spotlight, being featured in the February issue of Old Autos magazine and taking home plaques from the Fergus Truck Show.

Classic trucks like this are becoming harder to find—no scale models were ever made of this particular spec, and few remain in this condition. Ron’s F-150 isn’t just a classic; it’s a testament to 50 years of dedication.
